The School of Natural Sciences is looking to hire a Research Assistant for the fixed period of 12 months to carry out testing performance of already developed nanocomposites at UCLan from previous UK-China collaborative projects for waste-water treatment. The project is being funded by British Council, China via the “Going Global Partnerships - Enabling Grants to Strengthen UK-China Institutional Partnerships through academic collaboration 2021”
We are seeking an individual who will have knowledge and skills in handing magnetic nanoporous nanocomposites and testing water treatment. The individual will be expected to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of data collection and analysis under the direction of Dr Tapas Sen, Reader in Nanomaterials Chemistry.
You will be expected to assist with the qualitative and quantitative data collection, input/cleansing and analysis as per defined research protocols. You will attend project-planning/ operational meetings as required and provide administrative support to any research meetings associated with the identified research projects.
The successful applicant will therefore need to have experience of undertaking qualitative and or quantitative research studies. They will also have experience of data handling including interpretation and analysis using various software packages.
The applicant must have a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant area. A PhD or any peer-review journal publication would be desirable.
Applicants must have excellent oral and written presentation and communication skills and a willingness to work in a team. They will also have a professional approach to administrative duties.
