Please ensure you read the job description and person specification as these will be used to assess whether you meet minimum selection criteria for shortlisting.
The School wishes to appoint a highly motivated individual from a clinical background to join our enthusiastic and committed MBBS team. You will provide pastoral support to MBBS students with wellbeing issues, or who are undergoing proceedings related to serious professional misconduct. The postholder will be a key point of contact for students with issues in the above areas or for staff raising concerns and will provide a vital liaison between the University and its clinical partner institutions and placement providers.
You will have substantial experience of working within a healthcare setting and will have experience of providing mentoring or support to students or trainees. Excellent communication skills are a must, and you will be sensitive and supportive to students with a high degree of discretion. It is also essential to be full registered with the General Medical Council or other appropriate professional body.
Because of the nature of this role and to avoid any conflict of interests, you must not teach, assess or supervise UCLan MBBS students in any other setting.
Informal enquiries are welcomed; please contact Dr Tim Smith, Academic Lead, via tsmith15@uclan.ac.uk.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based at Westlakes campus but very occasional travel to UCLan Burnley or Preston campus may be required.
